Character motivation- Girl waiting for a date

These are my initial character designs. At first I was going to make my character a young girl, perhaps in her teens, as i thought it would be an appropriate for age for this specific character brief-  'girl waiting for a date'.

As I developed my her, I starting drawing her more mature and looking a bit older as a woman in a mid twenties perhaps.

I wanted her to have an arrogant personality. She is full of self-importance and to put it bluntly, loves herself a bit to much.
She will ALWAYS put herself first. People make way for her, and not the other way round.
She has an air of sophistication about her, head held high at all times (almost as if she's too good for you). She will do what she needs to do in her own time, the world will wait.
She therefore is quite selfish, superficial and materialistic. She just wants to look good. More often than not you will find her with a cigarette in hand.

Here are some observational sketches using myself as the model.I used a mirror to pose as she would in the animation.
I wanted to give the room some depth and perspective. For this I used a home design magazine  and found a room that I liked and most importantly to fit my character. What I was looking for specifically was the shape. I originally wanted her to be sat on a window seat so this layout seemed perfect with the sofa tucked in by the window. I also chose this angle because because I could put the door in on the right hand wall, making it more accessible for my character to get to from the sofa.

Here is my room design.
